Telangana Revises Fire Safety Rules; Buildings Under 24 Metres Exempted From NOC

The Hindu · india

Residential buildings in Telangana measuring below 24 metres in height will no longer require a Fire No Objection Certificate (NOC). The Telangana Fire Department revised its safety requirements, increasing the exemption threshold from the previous 18 metres. These new norms, effective from October 7, 2026, apply only to fresh applications. The department consulted with major builders' associations, including CREDAI and NAREDCO, to implement these changes. While NOCs are relaxed for shorter buildings, fire towers and command centres remain mandatory for structures 24 metres and above.
