Goa Govt Revives Sanjivani Sugar Factory Under Public-Private Partnership Model

Times of India · business

Goa's sugarcane sector is set for a revival with the state government's decision to restart the Sanjivani Sugar Factory through a public-private partnership. Farmers are expected to begin planting sugarcane between November and January, with the crop anticipated to be ready for harvest by December-January next year. The factory, which has been non-operational since the 2019-20 season, will resume processing once the crop matures. This initiative aims to restore farmer confidence and expand sugarcane cultivation after years of uncertainty following the factory's closure.
