India Needs Patient Capital For Deep-Tech, Says TDK Ventures Chief

Times of India · business

India requires more patient capital and corporate venture capital to foster globally competitive deep-tech companies, according to Nicolas Sauvage, president of TDK Ventures. He highlighted that deep-tech sectors like semiconductors and energy storage have longer gestation periods than SaaS and fintech, requiring a different investment horizon. This extended cycle also impacts the emergence of repeat entrepreneurs, as successful exits may take a decade. TDK Ventures, managing $500 million, sees India as its second-largest market, with six investments completed and more in the pipeline across various deep-tech fields.
