London Turns Food Scraps Into Sauna Fuel

A community project in east London is testing an innovative method of converting household food waste into energy for a local sauna. Food scraps are processed through an anaerobic digester to produce biogas, which then powers the sauna at the R-Urban Poplar ecology hub. This initiative aims to create a circular system, linking waste management with energy production and urban food growing.
