YES Bank Not Rushing Capital Raise Post SC Verdict; Cites Other Options
Business Standard · stocks
YES Bank's Chief Financial Officer stated the bank does not need to raise capital immediately, even if its CET1 ratio falls after additional tier 1 bonds are reinstated following the Supreme Court's verdict. The bank has other options and buffers to manage its capital position. The Supreme Court upheld the Bombay High Court's decision, setting aside the 2020 write-down of ₹8,415 crore in AT1 bonds. While a CET1 ratio of 11-11.5 per cent is not ideal, the bank's capital remains above regulatory minimums.
