Punjab BJP Chief Slams Kejriwal Over NHRC Notice On Pilgrimage Buses

Times of India · politics

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has criticized AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal for politicizing the National Human Rights Commission's notice regarding safety issues with buses under the chief minister's pilgrimage scheme. Dhillon stated that the NHRC's action against 1,000 buses nationwide due to fire incidents is not exclusive to Punjab. He claimed that Punjab informed the NHRC in January 2026 that no sleeper buses are registered there, implying the pilgrimage buses are private vehicles from other states. Dhillon also questioned Kejriwal about the scheme's status in Delhi.
