A citizens' group has urged the Maharashtra government and Reliance Foundation to prioritize a native coastal forest over attractions like a zoo and food outlets on Mumbai's Coastal Road reclaimed land. The Mumbai Coastal Forest group believes the 130-acre area presents a unique chance to create vital climate infrastructure and public green space. They are concerned the current masterplan leans towards a destination focused on ticketed attractions, including zoos and extensive visitor facilities. The group advocates for maximum forest cover, minimal hardscape, and native planting to support biodiversity and resilience.

एक नागरिक समूह ने महाराष्ट्र सरकार और Reliance Foundation से मुंबई की Coastal Road पर बने नए इलाके में चिड़ियाघर और खाने-पीने की जगहों जैसी चीज़ों की जगह एक देशी तटीय जंगल को प्राथमिकता देने का आग्रह किया है। Mumbai Coastal Forest समूह का मानना है कि 130 एकड़ का यह इलाका ज़रूरी जलवायु ढाँचा और सार्वजनिक हरी-भरी जगह बनाने का एक अनोखा मौका देता है। उन्हें चिंता है कि मौजूदा मास्टरप्लान ऐसी मंज़िल की ओर झुका हुआ है जो चिड़ियाघर और बड़े पैमाने पर आगंतुक सुविधाओं सहित टिकट वाली चीज़ों पर केंद्रित है। यह समूह जैव विविधता और लचीलेपन का समर्थन करने के लिए अधिकतम जंगल क्षेत्र, न्यूनतम पक्की सतह और देशी पौधे लगाने की वकालत करता है।
