Vehicle Data Masked on Logistics Portal, ULIP Rejects Misuse Allegations
The Hindu · india
The Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) has denied allegations of misuse following complaints of vehicle data being sold. ULIP stated that all user data, including owner names and mobile numbers, remains masked and is relayed in its original format. The platform emphasized it does not independently generate or unmask any sensitive information. This comes after the Road Ministry sought an audit due to concerns over large-scale data extraction, with some entities reportedly pulling up to 50 lakh records monthly. ULIP called for broader scrutiny of platforms involved in data dissemination.
