Lebanon Probes Abduction of Syrian Militia Leader

Lebanese authorities have launched an investigation into the abduction of former Syrian militia commander Ali Kayali, also known as Mihrac Ural, who was allegedly taken from Lebanon to Syria. Syrian intelligence claims Kayali was detained while attempting to flee Syria across the border and holds him responsible for killings in Baniyas in 2013. Lebanese judicial officials are examining telecommunication records to determine if Kayali was taken to the Syrian Embassy in Beirut or directly to Syria after his apprehension in Mansouriyeh.
