High Electricity Bills? Check Appliances Before Blaming Your Meter

If your electricity bill suddenly increases despite consistent usage, don't immediately assume your meter is faulty. Increased use of appliances like ACs, geysers, or heaters, or a malfunctioning device can also cause higher consumption. It's advisable to first note your meter reading, compare it with previous bills, and check if any appliance is consuming more power. If usage remains the same but the meter reading is abnormal, you can file a complaint with your electricity distribution company for a meter test.
