BJP Urges Karnataka DGP to Review FIRs Filed Over Form 7 Applications

A BJP delegation, led by former Karnataka CM B.S. Yediyurappa, submitted a memorandum to the state's Director General and Inspector General of Police. They urged the DGP to ensure FIRs registered in connection with Form 7 applications during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls are handled strictly according to law. The delegation alleged that criminal cases were being registered against BJP workers for submitting objections and that police were facing political pressure. They emphasized that mere bulk filing of Form 7 applications should not constitute a criminal offense.

पूर्व कर्नाटक सीएम बी. एस. येदियुरप्पा के नेतृत्व में बीजेपी के एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने राज्य के पुलिस महानिदेशक और महानिरीक्षक को एक ज्ञापन सौंपा। उन्होंने डीजीपी से आग्रह किया कि चुनावी रोल्स के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन के दौरान फॉर्म 7 आवेदनों के संबंध में दर्ज की गई FIR को कानून के अनुसार सख्ती से निपटाया जाए। प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने आरोप लगाया कि आपत्तियां दर्ज करने के लिए बीजेपी कार्यकर्ताओं के खिलाफ आपराधिक मामले दर्ज किए जा रहे हैं और पुलिस पर राजनीतिक दबाव है। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि केवल फॉर्म 7 आवेदनों का बड़े पैमाने पर फाइल होना आपराधिक अपराध नहीं माना जाना चाहिए।
