Anupamaa Actor Rupali Ganguly Moves Bombay High Court Over Deepfakes

Actress Rupali Ganguly has filed a plea with the Bombay High Court to address the unauthorised use of her photographs and identity online. She is seeking legal protection against the creation and circulation of fake endorsements and sexually explicit AI-generated content. Ganguly has named 18 respondents, including online platforms like Reddit and Google, as well as government bodies like MeitY and DoT. The plea aims to safeguard her personality rights and prevent further misuse of her likeness. The case is scheduled for hearing on November 4.
