Supreme Court Asks MEA to Help Families of Indians Killed in Ukraine War Get Compensation

The Supreme Court has directed the Ministry of External Affairs to issue a public notice for families of Indians who died fighting for the Russian military in the Ukraine war. The court wants the ministry to help these affected families claim compensation from Moscow. A bench comprising the Chief Justice and another judge asked New Delhi to assist in securing these payments from Russian authorities. This directive aims to provide a pathway for compensation for the families of deceased Indian nationals.
