The Supreme Court has strongly urged the Delhi Police to take proactive measures to prevent rape and sexual offenses against women and minors. A bench emphasized that mere directives are insufficient, demanding visible impact on the ground. Justice J.B. Pardiwala stated that instilling fear of severe consequences in offenders is crucial for deterrence. The court also sought a status report on safety measures and highlighted the need for enhanced security around schools and colleges, as well as during late-night and early-morning hours in public spaces.
