AFI Denies Athletes Were Unfit for Asian Games

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has denied reports that athletes Jyothi Yarraji and Praveen Chithravel were injured upon arrival in Nagoya for the Asian Games. AFI sources stated both athletes were fully fit, and their withdrawals were due to muscle pulls causing pain. Despite this, sources close to the squad suggest the AFI medical team cleared the athletes despite knowing they were injured. The sports ministry and SAI are reportedly upset and will seek explanations from the AFI and athletes.
