Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that crime rates in the state are below the national average, with significant reductions in murders and rapes compared to Haryana. He highlighted a 90% conviction rate under the NDPS Act and the success of the 'Yudh Nashian Virudh' campaign, which has led to 88,900 arrests and the recovery of 44,424 kg of heroin. Despite challenges posed by Pakistan's narco-terrorism policy and evolving drone smuggling technology, Yadav asserted that major strides have been made in combating drug trafficking and criminal activities.
