Senior Statistical Officer Held Taking Bribe

A senior statistical officer with the central ministry of statistics and programme implementation was detained by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Jaipur. Mukesh Malya was allegedly accepting a Rs 15,000 bribe from an emerald manufacturer for issuing a registration certificate. The officer had warned the firm of a potential penalty if the bribe was not paid. Malya, who cited a kidney ailment, was taken for treatment and legal procedures are underway. The ACB cautioned the public against fraudsters posing as their representatives.

सांख्यिकी और कार्यक्रम कार्यान्वयन मंत्रालय के एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी मुकेश मालिया को जयपुर में एंटी-करप्शन ब्यूरो (ACB) ने गिरफ्तार किया है। उन पर आरोप है कि वे एक पन्ना निर्माता से रजिस्ट्रेशन सर्टिफिकेट देने के लिए 15,000 रुपये की रिश्वत ले रहे थे। अधिकारी ने फर्म को रिश्वत न देने पर जुर्माने की धमकी भी दी थी। मालिया को किडनी की बीमारी के कारण इलाज के लिए ले जाया गया है और आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई जारी है। ACB ने जनता को ऐसे धोखेबाजों से सावधान रहने को कहा है।
