Delhi HC Questions Activist's Detention Ahead of Protest
Hindustan Times · india
The Delhi High Court questioned the Delhi Police on Monday regarding the detention of activist Nadeem Khan, asking how they could enter his house to prevent him from joining protests. The court sought a response to Khan's petition challenging his detention as illegal. Khan's lawyer stated police detained him without notice or order, preventing his participation in a protest against alleged electoral roll irregularities. The police claimed permission for the protest was denied but denied any detention. The Supreme Court recently ordered that peaceful protesters cannot be detained arbitrarily.
