The Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court has mandated an expert committee to investigate the causes of contaminated drinking water across the city. This directive follows reports highlighting widespread issues, including an incident in Mankapur where around 50 residents fell ill. The Municipal Corporation tested over 26,000 water samples, finding 208 unfit for consumption, with 323 complaints received in February 2026 alone. Contamination has been identified in over 50 settlements, potentially affecting four lakh residents, with pipeline leakages and unauthorized connections cited as primary causes.

बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट की नागपुर बेंच ने पूरे शहर में पीने के पानी के दूषित होने के कारणों की जांच के लिए एक विशेषज्ञ समिति बनाने का आदेश दिया है। यह निर्देश उन रिपोर्टों के बाद आया है जिनमें बड़े पैमाने पर समस्याओं को उजागर किया गया था, जिसमें मनकापुर की एक घटना भी शामिल है जहाँ लगभग 50 निवासी बीमार पड़ गए थे। नगर निगम ने 26,000 से अधिक पानी के नमूनों का परीक्षण किया, जिसमें 208 उपभोग के लिए अनुपयुक्त पाए गए, और अकेले फरवरी 2026 में 323 शिकायतें प्राप्त हुईं।
