Idukki Collector Clarifies No Night Travel Ban Amid Wildlife Advisory Concerns

Idukki District Collector Dinesan Cheruvatt has clarified that night travel has not been banned in the hill district, following protests over a misinterpreted advisory. The instruction, issued, advised the public against entering plantations adjoining forest areas between 6pm and 6am to reduce wildlife encounter risks. Various political parties, church, and farmers' organizations had opposed the advisory, fearing it would disrupt normal life and livelihoods. The collector emphasized that the advisory specifically targeted plantations near forests and did not restrict public or public transport movement.

इडुक्की जिला कलेक्टर Dinesan Cheruvatt ने स्पष्ट किया है कि गलत समझे गए एक सलाह के बाद विरोध प्रदर्शनों के चलते पहाड़ी जिले में रात में यात्रा पर कोई प्रतिबंध नहीं लगाया गया है। जारी किए गए निर्देश में वन्यजीवों से मुठभेड़ के जोखिम को कम करने के लिए शाम 6 बजे से सुबह 6 बजे के बीच जंगल से सटे बागानों में प्रवेश नहीं करने की सलाह दी गई थी। विभिन्न राजनीतिक दलों, चर्च और किसान संगठनों ने इस सलाह का विरोध किया था, उन्हें डर था कि इससे सामान्य जीवन और आजीविका बाधित होगी।
