Hundreds of thousands across Europe have protested the rising cost of living in separate demonstrations. France saw over 550,000 participants, with clashes reported between protesters and police. Belgium's capital, Brussels, experienced police using tear gas and water cannons to disperse crowds. In Portugal, tens of thousands marched against the crisis, low wages, and housing unaffordability.
