Rajasthan Drought Fears Rise As Rainfall Drops; Collectors Review Water Supply

Rainfall in Jaisalmer and Barmer districts has fallen to less than half the average, sparking fears of a severe drought and potential water crisis. Jaisalmer District Collector Anupama Jorwal inspected water supply arrangements and ongoing projects, including those under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Barmer District Collector Chinmayi Gopal also reviewed the drinking water system and directed officials to prepare a contingency plan for the summer. Jaisalmer city has faced erratic water supply for over a year, with residents expressing frustration over the lack of action.

जैसलमेर और बाड़मेर जिलों में बारिश औसत से आधे से भी कम हो गई है, जिससे गंभीर सूखे और संभावित जल संकट का डर बढ़ गया है। जैसलमेर की जिला कलेक्टर अनुपमा जोरवाल ने जल जीवन मिशन के तहत चल रही परियोजनाओं सहित पानी की आपूर्ति की व्यवस्थाओं का निरीक्षण किया। बाड़मेर की जिला कलेक्टर चिन्मयी गोपाल ने भी पेयजल प्रणाली की समीक्षा की और अधिकारियों को गर्मियों के लिए एक आपातकालीन योजना तैयार करने का निर्देश दिया। जैसलमेर शहर में एक साल से अधिक समय से पानी की आपूर्ति अनियमित है, और निवासियों ने कार्रवाई की कमी पर निराशा व्यक्त की है।
