BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into alleged irregularities at Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) and the proposed import of foreign coal. He challenged the Chief Minister to order such an inquiry into all allegations raised by the BRS against the current government. Rama Rao claimed that imported coal, costing ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 a tonne, is significantly more expensive than Singareni's coal at ₹3,800 a tonne.
