Brooks was arrested on October 16 and formally cited on October 19, along with a citation for driving without required lamps lighted. This incident comes as Tiffany's campaign focuses on public safety. Brooks had previously drawn attention for barring reporters from a campaign event. A parent organization is now urging him to step down from the school board.

रिपब्लिकन गवर्नर पद के उम्मीदवार टॉम टिफ़नी के प्रचार दल के सदस्य और वौकेशा स्कूल बोर्ड के सदस्य एरिक ब्रूक्स को विस्कॉन्सिन में पहली बार शराब पीकर गाड़ी चलाने (OWI) के आरोप में नोटिस दिया गया है। ब्रूक्स को 16 अक्टूबर को गिरफ्तार किया गया था और 19 अक्टूबर को औपचारिक रूप से नोटिस दिया गया, साथ ही बिना ज़रूरी लाइट जलाए गाड़ी चलाने का भी नोटिस मिला। यह घटना ऐसे समय में हुई है जब टिफ़नी का प्रचार दल सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा पर ध्यान केंद्रित कर रहा है। ब्रूक्स पहले भी एक प्रचार कार्यक्रम से पत्रकारों को रोकने के लिए चर्चा में रहे थे। एक अभिभावक संगठन अब उनसे स्कूल बोर्ड से इस्तीफा देने का आग्रह कर रहा है।
