Starbucks to open first India GCC in Chennai

Global coffee chain Starbucks will establish its first Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, creating approximately 800 new jobs. The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Tamil Nadu government for this expansion. This new entity will operate separately from Starbucks' existing joint venture with Tata Consumer Products in India. Factors like skilled talent availability and lower attrition rates influenced the decision to choose Chennai.

स्टारबक्स अपना पहला ग्लोबल कैपेबिलिटी सेंटर (GCC) चेन्नई, तमिलनाडु में खोलेगा। इससे करीब 800 नई नौकरियां पैदा होंगी। कंपनी ने तमिलनाडु सरकार के साथ इसके लिए एक एमओयू साइन किया है। यह सेंटर भारत में टाटा कंज्यूमर प्रोडक्ट्स के साथ स्टारबक्स के मौजूदा ज्वाइंट वेंचर से अलग काम करेगा। चेन्नई को चुनने की वजह वहां कुशल टैलेंट की उपलब्धता और कम टर्नओवर रेट जैसे कारण रहे।
