Bengal Tribunal Judges to Soon E-sign Orders, ECI Revises Portal

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is updating its ECINet portal to allow tribunal judges in West Bengal to e-sign and upload orders. This change replaces the previous Aadhaar-based authentication system. The move comes after judges reported that the Aadhaar requirement hindered the issuance of final orders. Over 38 lakh voter cases are currently pending in the state's 19 Appellate Tribunals, which were formed following Supreme Court directions. This revision aims to streamline the judicial process for these pending cases.

चुनाव आयोग (ECI) पश्चिम बंगाल के ट्रिब्यूनल जजों को ई-साइन और ऑर्डर अपलोड करने की सुविधा देने के लिए अपने ECINet पोर्टल को अपडेट कर रहा है। यह बदलाव पिछले आधार-आधारित प्रमाणीकरण प्रणाली की जगह लेगा। यह कदम जजों द्वारा यह रिपोर्ट किए जाने के बाद उठाया गया है कि आधार की आवश्यकता अंतिम आदेश जारी करने में बाधा डाल रही थी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट के निर्देशों के बाद गठित राज्य के 19 अपीलीय ट्रिब्यूनलों में वर्तमान में 38 लाख से अधिक मतदाता मामले लंबित हैं। इस संशोधन का उद्देश्य इन लंबित मामलों के लिए न्यायिक प्रक्रिया को सुव्यवस्थित करना है।
