The Better India · lifestyle

Artist Subodh Kerkar, a former doctor, orchestrated a unique performance installation on Morjim beach in Goa, featuring forty Bharatanatyam dancers. The dancers moved along the shoreline, their movements harmonizing with the rhythm of the waves. Kerkar, who left medicine in 1990 to pursue art, views the sea as his master and muse. This performance, titled 'Navrasas,' aimed to explore the connection between classical dance traditions and the vastness of the ocean, which has historically facilitated the spread of cultures and ideas.
