Hindustan Times · politics

Bollywood actors Vijay Varma and Huma Qureshi have voiced support for protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, organized by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Varma sarcastically questioned the CEC's integrity, while Qureshi emphasized the fundamental right to peaceful dissent and accountability in a democracy. Protesters in Delhi, including CJP leaders, were detained but later released. Qureshi stated her support is for citizens demanding accountability, not any political party, asserting that patriotism involves speaking up.
