India Hosts BRICS-Plus Summit Amidst Global Strategic Realignment
Business Standard · world
India successfully hosted the 18th BRICS-Plus summit in New Delhi on September 12-13. This meeting followed closely on the heels of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Notably, China, Russia, Iran, and India are members of both groupings, highlighting a complex geopolitical landscape. While SCO focuses on regional security, BRICS has a broader global agenda. India, China, Russia, and Indonesia are also key members of the G20, indicating overlapping interests across major global economic and political forums.
