US medical lab operator Quest Diagnostics reported a cyber breach on October 22 that exposed certain patient records. The company stated that its Quanum Lab Services Manager system was affected, impacting clients who use it to place test orders and receive results. Quest Diagnostics paused access to the system upon detection and is investigating the extent of the data accessed, which included Patient Health Information and Patient Identifiable Information. Core business operations remain unaffected, and services were expected to be fully restored by October 23.
