Delhi's air quality drastically worsened in early November, with the average AQI jumping from 117 to 324. This rapid deterioration led to the implementation of Stage 2 of the GRAP across Delhi-NCR. Experts explain that while vehicular and industrial emissions are constant, winter weather conditions, including temperature inversions and reduced wind speed, trap pollutants near the ground.

नवंबर की शुरुआत में दिल्ली की हवा की गुणवत्ता में भारी गिरावट आई, औसत AQI 117 से बढ़कर 324 हो गया। इस तेजी से बिगड़ी स्थिति के कारण दिल्ली-एनसीआर में GRAP के स्टेज 2 को लागू किया गया। विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि गाड़ियों और उद्योगों से होने वाला उत्सर्जन तो लगातार होता रहता है, लेकिन सर्दियों के मौसम में तापमान का उलटा होना और हवा की गति कम होने जैसी स्थितियां प्रदूषकों को जमीन के पास फंसा लेती हैं।
