Iraq Halts Flights To Iran Over US Sanctions

Four Iraqi airports have suspended all flights to and from Iran following new US aviation sanctions targeting companies doing business with Iranian airlines. Baghdad, Najaf, Erbil, and Sulaimaniyah airports will no longer operate these routes. This decision significantly impacts passengers, who must now undertake a 12-hour land journey between the two countries. The suspension is particularly notable given the strong religious ties and pilgrimage travel between Iraq and Iran.
