Sebi Launches Demat 2.0 Pilot For Tokenised Bonds

The Securities and Exchange Board of India has launched Demat 2.0, a pilot project for tokenised corporate bonds. Announced by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra and Sebi Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey, it aims to test new methods for issuing, holding, trading, and settling bonds. This system enables faster settlement, immediate access to funds from secondary market sales, and automated processing of interest and redemption payments.

भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (SEBI) ने टोकनाइज्ड कॉर्पोरेट बॉन्ड के लिए एक पायलट प्रोजेक्ट, Demat 2.0 लॉन्च किया है। RBI गवर्नर संजय मल्होत्रा और SEBI चेयरमैन तुहिन कांता पांडे ने इसकी घोषणा की। इसका मकसद बॉन्ड जारी करने, रखने, खरीदने-बेचने और निपटाने के नए तरीके आज़माना है। यह सिस्टम तेज़ सेटलमेंट, सेकेंडरी मार्केट से तुरंत पैसे मिलने और ब्याज व रिडेम्पशन भुगतान के ऑटोमेटेड प्रोसेस में मदद करेगा।
