Bengal Govt Mandates ICU Bed Status Display In All Hospitals

Times of India · health

The West Bengal government has directed all government and private hospitals to display the number of available ICU beds, categorized into four levels. This directive follows a Supreme Court order mandating a standardized display system for ICU availability. Hospitals must classify beds based on ventilation and standard ICU facilities, with Level 1 beds designated for critical patients. The display will be placed at strategic locations within hospital premises. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and patient safety, ensuring patients are aware of available critical care resources.
