Rajasthan CM Launches Water Conservation Drive Amidst Worsening Crisis

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is launching a statewide water conservation campaign to combat a worsening water crisis. The initiative will focus on groundwater recharge, restoring traditional water bodies, and public participation to address potential threats to rabi crops, livestock, and drinking water supplies. The government is also concerned about distress migration and illegal water extraction. Rajasthan faces a significant water deficit, with groundwater extraction exceeding extractable resources by 147%.

राजस्थान के मुख्यमंत्री भजन लाल शर्मा जल संकट से निपटने के लिए एक राष्ट्रव्यापी जल संरक्षण अभियान शुरू कर रहे हैं। इस पहल में भूजल पुनर्भरण, पारंपरिक जल निकायों को बहाल करने और रबी फसलों, पशुधन और पेयजल आपूर्ति के लिए संभावित खतरों को दूर करने के लिए जन भागीदारी पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया जाएगा। सरकार प्रवासी संकट और अवैध जल निकासी के बारे में भी चिंतित है। राजस्थान एक महत्वपूर्ण जल घाटे का सामना कर रहा है, जिसमें भूजल निकासी 147% तक निकालने योग्य संसाधनों से अधिक है।
