The maker of Call of Duty is facing strong criticism in South Korea after real footage from the 2022 Itaewon crowd crush, which killed over 150 people, was discovered within the game's latest installment. Bereaved families and civic groups have demanded the removal of the clips, citing a "complete lack of sensitivity" towards the tragedy. The game developer confirmed using real-life footage, stating it was not intended to trivialize the disaster. However, they have not yet responded to demands to remove the footage.
