The Trump administration has suspended major tech firms, including Microsoft and Adobe, from applying for the Permanent Labor Certification Program (PERM). US Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling accused these companies of abusing the system, which allows foreign workers to apply for green cards. Vice President JD Vance claimed firms like Microsoft exploited the PERM system by advertising jobs in small newspapers to replace American workers with foreign staff. Microsoft stated that the majority of its workforce is American and that it offers high compensation to its employees.
