Delhi's booth-level officers (BLOs), many of whom are government school teachers, are struggling to manage their new Election Commission duties alongside their teaching responsibilities. The Election Commission of India recently introduced changes to the special intensive revision process, requiring BLOs to visit voters' homes for document collection. This has significantly increased their workload, with some reporting 13-hour workdays, often extending into the evenings after school hours. The situation is particularly challenging as it coincides with the exam season, adding to the pressure on these officers.
