Initially purchased by Luigi Grosso for its signature, the artwork was later confirmed by experts. It was sold at Sotheby's in New York in 1970 for $110,000. The painting, titled 'Peasant Woman in front of a Farmhouse', spent decades on an English farm before its rediscovery. It was eventually sold at the TEFAF Maastricht art fair in March 2020.
