Berhampur Police Arrest Cook of ACF Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra in 2021 Death Case

Berhampur police have arrested Manmath Kumbha, the cook of Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, in connection with his death from burn injuries in July 2021. Kumbha, aged 42, was apprehended from his village after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him last year. He is one of three accused, including former DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and Mohapatra's wife Bidya Bharati Panda, in the case. Mohapatra's father alleged conspiracy, leading to the investigation being handed over to the crime branch.

बेरहमपुर पुलिस ने सहायक वन संरक्षक (एसीएफ) सौम्या रंजन मोहपात्रा की 2021 जुलाई में जलने से हुई मौत के संबंध में उनके कुक मनमथ कुंभा को गिरफ्तार किया है। 42 वर्षीय कुंभा को पिछले साल उनके खिलाफ गैर-जमानती वारंट जारी होने के बाद उनके गांव से पकड़ा गया था। वह इस मामले में पूर्व डीएफओ संग्राम केशरी बेहरा और मोहपात्रा की पत्नी बिद्या भारती पांडा सहित तीन आरोपियों में से एक हैं। मोहपात्रा के पिता ने साजिश का आरोप लगाया था, जिसके बाद जांच अपराध शाखा को सौंप दी गई थी।
