Social activist Haresh Gajwani, 54, was shot dead outside Ulhasnagar railway station on Wednesday night. Police have arrested three suspects, identified as Avinash Naidu, Vijay Singh, and Noor Alam Khan, in connection with the murder. Preliminary investigations suggest a long-standing dispute between Gajwani and Naidu, stemming from counter-cases registered in 2021, may have contributed to the ongoing tensions. Gajwani had recently posted on social media, tagging senior officials about alleged illegal activities and expressing fears for his life.
