Delhi HC Stays JNU Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam's Dismissal Order

The Delhi High Court has granted interim relief to JNU Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, staying the university's order that dismissed him from service. The professor faced allegations of sexual harassment from 11 female students who claimed he invited them to his campus residence under pretext and attempted to sexually assault them. Some students also accused him of making indecent remarks in class. Professor Akoijam has consistently denied all charges. A case was registered against him by Delhi Police based on a complaint from JNU's Chief Security Officer.

दिल्ली हाईकोर्ट ने जेएनयू प्रोफेसर अंगोमचा बिमोल अकोइजम को अंतरिम राहत दी है। कोर्ट ने जेएनयू के उस आदेश पर रोक लगा दी है जिसमें उन्हें सेवा से बर्खास्त किया गया था। प्रोफेसर पर 11 महिला छात्रों ने यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोप लगाए थे। छात्रों का कहना था कि प्रोफेसर ने उन्हें बहाने से अपने कैंपस निवास पर बुलाया और यौन उत्पीड़न करने की कोशिश की। कुछ छात्रों ने क्लास में अभद्र टिप्पणी करने का भी आरोप लगाया। प्रोफेसर अकोइजम ने लगातार सभी आरोपों से इनकार किया है। जेएनयू के मुख्य सुरक्षा अधिकारी की शिकायत के आधार पर दिल्ली पुलिस ने उनके खिलाफ मामला दर्ज किया था।
