Indian Investors Seek Global Markets Amidst Flat Domestic Returns
Business Standard · stocks
Indian investors are increasingly looking abroad for investment opportunities as domestic markets remain largely stagnant. Remittances for overseas equity and debt investments surged by 192% to $456.69 million in July 2026, according to RBI data. However, most global feeder funds offered by Indian mutual funds have halted new inflows due to exhausted overseas investment limits. Exchange-traded funds investing internationally are also facing issues, trading at significant premiums over their actual value. Investors are exploring direct routes via US brokers or alternatives like GIFT City funds to access global markets.
