CAG Flags Financial Irregularities in Odisha's Previous Govt's School Transformation Programme

The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has identified significant financial irregularities in the previous BJD government's 5T High School Transformation Programme in Odisha. An audit of six districts revealed issues such as suspected misappropriation of funds, fraudulent payments, and procurements made without following guidelines. Notably, ₹57.95 lakh was spent on a private institution, and over ₹12 lakh was suspected to be misappropriated in two high schools. The report also highlighted wasteful expenditure of ₹7.39 crore due to duplicate e-content procurement and non-functional smart classrooms in 54 schools.

भारत के नियंत्रक एवं महालेखा परीक्षक (CAG) ने ओडिशा में पिछली BJD सरकार के 5T हाई स्कूल ट्रांसफॉर्मेशन प्रोग्राम में बड़ी वित्तीय अनियमितताएं पाई हैं। छह जिलों के ऑडिट में फंड के कथित दुरुपयोग, धोखाधड़ी वाले भुगतान और दिशानिर्देशों का पालन किए बिना की गई खरीद जैसे मुद्दे सामने आए। खास तौर पर, एक निजी संस्थान पर ₹57.95 लाख खर्च किए गए, और दो हाई स्कूलों में ₹12 लाख से अधिक के दुरुपयोग का संदेह है। रिपोर्ट में डुप्लीकेट ई-कंटेंट की खरीद और 54 स्कूलों में गैर-कार्यात्मक स्मार्ट क्लासरूम के कारण ₹7.39 करोड़ के फिजूलखर्ची को भी उजागर किया गया।
