DGFT Urges Industry to Boost Exports Via FTAs

Director General of Foreign Trade Lav Agarwal has urged Indian industry associations to actively convert free trade agreements (FTAs) and government export schemes into actual exports. He emphasized the need to mentor potential exporters at the district and cluster levels to translate market access opportunities into tangible trade. Agarwal highlighted that while India has entered into FTAs, industry engagement, particularly in understanding market access like with the UK agreement, needs significant improvement.

डायरेक्टर जनरल ऑफ फॉरेन ट्रेड लव अग्रवाल ने भारतीय उद्योग संघों से फ्री ट्रेड एग्रीमेंट्स (एफटीए) और सरकारी निर्यात योजनाओं को असल निर्यात में बदलने के लिए सक्रिय रूप से काम करने का आग्रह किया है। उन्होंने जिला और क्लस्टर स्तर पर संभावित निर्यातकों को मेंटर करने की ज़रूरत पर ज़ोर दिया ताकि बाज़ार तक पहुँच के अवसरों को ठोस व्यापार में बदला जा सके। अग्रवाल ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि भारत ने एफटीए में प्रवेश किया है, लेकिन उद्योग की भागीदारी, खासकर बाज़ार तक पहुँच को समझने में, जैसे कि यूके समझौते के साथ, काफी सुधार की ज़रूरत है।
