Kerala HC Disposes Petition Seeking Vigilance Inquiry Into Bodybuilder Appointments

The Kerala High Court has disposed of a petition seeking a Vigilance inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the appointment of two bodybuilders to the armed police forces. The court noted that the State had denied prior approval required for a probe under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The petitioner was directed to challenge the government order denying approval. Lawyer K.M. Shajahan alleged the appointments were based on political affiliation during the previous government's term. The court was informed the government was re-examining the Cabinet decision to appoint them.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों में दो बॉडीबिल्डरों की कथित अनियमितताओं की विजिलेंस जांच की मांग वाली याचिका निपटा दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि राज्य ने भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम के तहत जांच के लिए आवश्यक पूर्व मंजूरी नहीं दी थी। याचिकाकर्ता को मंजूरी से इनकार करने वाले सरकारी आदेश को चुनौती देने का निर्देश दिया गया था। वकील के.एम. शहाजहां ने आरोप लगाया कि पिछली सरकार के कार्यकाल में नियुक्तियां राजनीतिक जुड़ाव के आधार पर की गई थीं। कोर्ट को सूचित किया गया कि सरकार उन्हें नियुक्त करने के कैबिनेट फैसले पर पुनर्विचार कर रही थी।
