Tensions escalated in Manipur as protesters attempted to storm a sports event attended by the Chief Minister and Home Minister in Imphal West. The demonstration was against the recent killings of civilians, with protesters demanding the leaders address the law and order situation. Security forces dispersed the mob using tear gas, injuring at least three people. Another attempt to protest in Imphal East also saw police use tear gas and stun bombs, injuring two more. The violence follows the ambush and killing of three Meitei men, with three arrests made.
