Shy Tigress Reintroduced to Buxa Reserve Finally Steps Out of Enclosure

Spotted deer alarm calls were heard in Buxa Tiger Reserve after a reintroduced tigress emerged from her enclosure on Sunday. The three-year-old tigress, brought from Bihar's Valmiki, walked out of her 2.2-hectare enclosure around 4:50 pm, two days after its doors were opened. Foresters allowed her to acclimatize before release, and she was seen spraying on a tree. The tigress, fitted with a GPS radio collar, is being monitored by ground teams. Officials believe her shy nature may reduce the immediate risk of human-animal conflict.

रविवार को बक्सा टाइगर रिजर्व में छोड़ी गई बाघिन के बाड़े से बाहर निकलने के बाद चितल हिरणों के खतरे की घंटी सुनाई दी। बिहार के वाल्मीकि से लाई गई तीन साल की बाघिन, दो दिन पहले उसके दरवाजे खोले जाने के बाद शाम करीब 4:50 बजे अपने 2.2 हेक्टेयर के बाड़े से बाहर निकली। वन अधिकारियों ने उसे छोड़ने से पहले अनुकूलित होने दिया, और उसे एक पेड़ पर निशान लगाते देखा गया। जीपीएस रेडियो कॉलर लगी बाघिन की जमीनी टीमों द्वारा निगरानी की जा रही है। अधिकारियों का मानना है कि उसके शर्मीले स्वभाव से मानव-पशु संघर्ष का तत्काल खतरा कम हो सकता है।
