GST Revenue Hits ₹2.03 Lakh Crore in September, But Import Share Reaches All-Time High
The Hindu - Business · business
GST revenue surged to ₹2.03 lakh crore in September, marking a 14.7% increase year-on-year. However, this growth is accompanied by a significant shift in revenue sources. Revenue from imports saw a substantial 25.9% rise, reaching an all-time high of 32.2% of total GST collections. Conversely, revenue from domestic transactions grew at a slower pace of 10.1%, falling to its lowest-ever share of 67.8%. This trend is influenced by currency fluctuations and rising commodity prices impacting import values.
