The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) has recommended that smart glasses should feature clear indicators when recording, such as LED lights or audio cues. This advisory aims to address growing privacy concerns, particularly regarding the secret filming of individuals, especially women and children. The EDPB highlighted that bystanders have a right to know when they are being recorded, even in public spaces. The recommendation comes amid increasing calls in several European countries to ban or restrict these devices due to potential privacy violations and misuse.
